As Director of Social Media, I led Emory University's social media strategy, coordinating with departments and leadership across the University to share and promote Emory's versatile stories. I conceptualized and implemented marketing strategies/social media initiatives university-wide. Working at Emory bolstered my experience in crisis communications, and I played a key role in developing its crisis communication plan. 

I quickly established myself in the network of other Higher Ed Social Media professionals, and presented at the Higher Ed Social Media Conference 3 months into the job. My first week as Social Media Director, Emory University Hospital received the nation's first Ebola patients, propelling Emory into the international spotlight. I coordinated with multiple departments and divisions to formulate an effective communication plan. Our social channels saw a tenfold increase in reach for August 2014, and threefold from August-October 2014.

Where it all began. I started at CNN as a Video Archive Coordinator, and moved my way up to the Assignment Editor/Producer role. On a parallel path, I helped mold a new division, CNN Wire Services, from its inception. Throughout my career at CNN, I spearheaded the development of that department, becoming the go-to person and leader of CNN Wire Services.
